Property Tax Appeals Advisor (Washington State)

Hourly (Contract-Based): $75–$100/hour

Abode Money is a rapidly growing technology company dedicated to helping homeowners save on the financial aspects of homeownership. With tens of thousands of homeowners already on our platform, we are expanding into Washington and seeking an experienced Property Tax Advisor to guide our team through the state’s regulatory and operational landscape.

This contract-based, hourly consulting position is ideal for someone with deep expertise in Washington’s property tax protest system who can act as a trusted advisor during our early market entry. There is also potential for this opportunity to evolve into a mutually beneficial long-term partnership as we expand our property tax offering in Washington. We proudly partner with leading home financial services companies, including USAA, Lemonade, Compass, Nerdwallet, CreditKarma, Monarch Money, Consumer Reports, Thumbtack, and more.

What You’ll Do

As our advisor, you will support Abode Money’s team by providing:

  • Regulatory Insight: Clarify Washington statutes, administrative processes, and compliance requirements for property tax protests.

  • County-Specific Knowledge: Advise on local nuances and best practices for the five largest counties in Washington.

  • Filing Processes: Guide our team on when and how to file petitions (TRIM notices, deadlines, evidence) and explain requirements for online vs. paper submissions.

  • Hearing Procedures: Share insights on the hearing process and best practices for effective protest preparation.

Who We’re Looking For

You’re a great fit if you:

  • Have direct experience working within the property tax ecosystem—through your own practice, at an established firm, or within a government agency.

  • Are deeply familiar with county-specific procedures, deadlines, and rules, especially for the largest counties in Washington.

  • Possess an innovative mindset and are willing to find creative solutions while adhering to all local guidelines.

  • Are available to consult on an as-needed, hourly basis via phone or Zoom.

Why This Role Matters

We’re on a mission to make homeownership more affordable. Your guidance will play a critical role in ensuring our Washington expansion is successful, compliant, and impactful.

This is a flexible, high-impact opportunity to contribute your expertise without a full-time commitment.
