Property Tax Appeals Advisor (Florida)

Hourly (Contract-Based): $75–$100/hour

Abode Money is a rapidly growing technology company empowering homeowners to save on the financial elements of homeownership. With tens of thousands of homeowners already on our platform, we are expanding into Florida and seeking an experienced Property Tax Appeals Advisor to guide our team through regulatory and operational requirements during our early market entry.

This is an hourly, contract-based consulting role ideal for someone who is an expert in Florida’s property tax appeals system. As a trusted advisor, your expertise will be instrumental during this launch phase. There is also potential for this position to evolve into a deeper partnership as we build out our property tax product in Florida. We currently partner with leading home financial services brands including USAA, Lemonade, Compass, Nerdwallet, CreditKarma, Monarch Money, Consumer Reports, Thumbtack, and more.

What You’ll Help With

As our advisor, you’ll support the internal Abode Money team in:

  • Regulatory Insight: Clarifying Florida statutes, administrative processes, and compliance obligations relevant to property tax protests.

  • County-specific Knowledge: Giving practical guidance on local requirements in key counties—including Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Hillsborough, and Orange.

  • Filing Processes: Coaching our team on petition filing strategies—including TRIM notices, deadlines, evidence requirements, and online vs. paper submissions.

  • Hearing Procedures: Sharing best practices for navigating the value adjustment board (VAB) process and preparing effective protests.

Who We’re Looking For

You are a strong fit if you:

  • Have direct experience in the Florida property tax ecosystem—whether through your own practice, an established firm, or government office.

  • Possess deep knowledge of county-level procedures, deadlines, and rules, especially in Florida’s five largest counties.

  • Demonstrate innovative thinking while adhering to all local statutes and regulations surrounding property tax appeals.

  • Are available for consulting on an as-needed, hourly basis via phone or Zoom.

Why This Role Matters

Our mission is to make homeownership more affordable—and your guidance is crucial as we responsibly expand into Florida. Your expertise ensures we build on a solid, compliant foundation.

This is a flexible and high-impact engagement where you can contribute meaningfully without a full-time commitment. If you’re interested in shaping the next era of homeowner advocacy, we’d love to connect!
